Oceans of Light facilitations are by nature participatory, engaging and inclusive of all voices. Our effective methodology introduces mindfulness practices to encourage clear, unbiased communication. This thinking environment creates a space where collaborative processes, including high-level brainstorming, assessing, and strategising, can unfold safely, efficiently and productively.
We believe that the critical ingredients for successful engagement and facilitation are to give enough time and consideration beforehand for planning and afterwards for providing high-level reports that are concise and useful to the organisation. Therefore we work closely with experienced and highly skilled scribes and co-facilitators.
Oceans of Light has developed a toolbox to facilitate both in-person and online sessions successfully.
Steve’s facilitation style focuses on clear communication, trust-building, boundary setting, team building and personal integrity. This was developed through 10 years of involvement from 1996 to 2006 in the Alternatives to Violence Project. The knowledge and experience that he gained as a facilitator was reinvested as a volunteer back into the project, where he became an instructor and mentor for trainers who train facilitators.
